Vintage 1950s dress made of bright goldenrod yellow taffeta with a stunning ivory spiderweb and floral cotton lace overlay making this dress not only gorgeous but very special. Fitted in the bodice with a darted strapless bust with vertical bones to shape and support, with the lace overlay covering the shoulders and providing 3/4 sleeves for modesty. Adorable popcorn edging along the neckline and arm openings give a nice detail. A wide-sweeping flared skirt falling below the knee with a built-in petticoat gives volume and structure, with a beautiful wide yellow taffeta 'ribbon' waist which adds so much drama, especially in the back. The yellow underdress has a hidden side zipper, with the lace closing with button-snaps for ease of wear. A truly unique and fabulous dress!

CONDITION :
Very good: Hand washed and steamed, there are a couple of small holes in the petticoat which do not show. A few brownish marks on the lace as pictured, and two tiny holes in the folds of the yellow taffeta. The bust, unfortunately, has a bluish-gray stain that I was unable to remove, but thankfully this does not show under the lace. Priced accordingly.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
