This 1950s cupcake style dress was made from a rich lilac purple taffeta with a tulle overlay that adds immense body. Absolutely darling, with a sweetheart neckline and attached stole that beautifully flatters the chest and shoulders. Prim and fitted in the bodice with an enormously full skirt that creates the perfect 'cupcake' allure falling just above the ankles. Pleating detail at the back of the skirt creates a bustle like feature, with a scalloped outer layer of tule that really offers an elegant, almost ethereal look for the wearer. Little floral bundles around the skirt add the perfect bit of adornment. A metal side zipper closes the gown. An absolutely wonderful ballerina-like piece.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
