This vintage 1950s to 1960s peignoir set by Carter's was made from a two-toned sheer pastel baby blue nylon chiffon over a silky opaque baby pink lining. Very full and ethereal in its allure, with sweet diamond patterned shirring beautifully finished with tiny faux pearl beadwork. The robe is completely open, closing at the neck with a little tie. Very full puffed sleeves with elastic cuffs that allow for versatility in size and comfort. The gown features a fitted bodice and wide A line skirt that flatters the figure beautifully, elasticized at the waist for comfort. This set falls to the ankle which lengthens  the figure and adds a touch of elegance. An absolutely stunning set.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
