This vintage 1940s shirtwaist dress was made from a very sheer white rayon chiffon material with a stunning bold paisley print throughout in shades of green, black, and purple. Bias cut with darted shoulders and tailored pleating to provide the classic silhouette of the era. An open fit through the bodice with a row of green plastic star buttons and the cutest pussy bow neck tie for added allure. Slinky in fit due to its very light weight, this darling little frock accentuates the figure nicely with a fitted waist and sleek A line skirt that falls just below the knee. What makes this dress especially rare is the white plastic (or cellulose) Talon zipper at the side of the waist. These colored zippers were used during and right after WWII due to rations and shortages. Talon marketed their colored plastic zippers for a very brief span.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
