This vintage 1940s nightgown and peignoir set was made from a very silky smooth sheer black rayon chiffon material. Both pieces are bias cut which provides a decadent drape that flatters the figure beautifully, with little rayon flower appliques that adorn the bodice(s) for a bit of decor. The robe features gathered shoulders and long wide bishop style sleeves that close at the lace edged cuffs with little hidden snaps. Very sleek, with a lace edged opening that closes at the waist with attached ties. The robe's hem is slightly longer at the sides which offers a nice bit of drama. The gown features very intentional stitching to create an allure that pulls the eye at all directions. A wide lace neckline that extends through the waist, wrapping around the sides to directly above the derriere. A wide lace hem with center kick slit that not allows for easy movement but also creates a strikingly gorgeous aesthetic for the wearer. A very elegant and mood setting boudoir set.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
