This 1940s dressing gown robe is loaded with lace detail and beautifully fitted to give you a very glamorous look. Made of silky rayon satin in a lovely shade of pearly white, with alencon lace detail over the tops of the shoulders and the front of the bodice. A deep V opening that is cut on the bias, with shoulder pads and gathered fabric to flatter and give the classic silhouette. Stunning, wide bell sleeves hemmed in lace fall to the middle wrist and give lovely movement, with eye-hook closure at the waist and an incredibly long tapered sash tie to cinch and add drama to the robe. There is a large, lace edged pocket for trinkets and a wide, flowing skirt which falls to just above the ankle, depending on height. The back gives a very sleek and tailored look, with gathered fabric in the center. A perfect addition to a bridal trousseau, though an elegant robe even for everyday wear.

CONDITION - Very good: There is one very hard to see spot on the hip and one pinhole. Most significant are two little splits above the hem in the back that could very easily be sewn shut or closed with fusing fabric.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
