This 1940s nightgown by Beau Monde was made from a nearly see-thru black cotton tulle with a gorgeous floral cotton lace. This beauty is cut on the bias with intentional stitching to softly shape the bust. Fluttery straps connect to the center back allowing for a slightly open look. Black satin ribbon woven through the waist offers a subtle contrast between fabrics, with a lace edged hem that pulls the gown together. This very unique piece features a row of little buttons that close the gown at the lower back, making her unlike any other. A very carefully and intentionally done gem.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
