This 1940s nightgown is a simple yet very elegant style that could easily transform into an evening gown. Made of very silky rose gold pink rayon satin, with a beautiful art deco-geometric brocade pattern woven throughout. The fabric has a very high luster, giving exquisite shine and dramatic texture under any kind of lighting. Bias cut with a very deep V neck which gives an extra sexy touch. Capped princess sleeves cover just the tops of the shoulders, with scalloped edges and sweet little buttons in the center chest. This gown drapes beautifully along the curves, with a long floor length skirt that has a slight flair at the hem. Absolutely stunning and versatile enough to match with a plethora of robes, shawls or bed jackets.

CONDITION - Very good-excellent: No holes or rips, some very light pilling toward the hem. There is a gold patina below the waist down the right side of the skirt which is very hard to see unless under very bright light (see last photo). One very faint reddish mark at the front right hip.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
