This vintage 1940s nightgown and peignoir set by Lady Doretta was made from a silky, crisp white rayon material. Both pieces with a bias cut that flatters the figure beautifully. Cotton lace ruffled at the neck and sleeve cuff of the robe along with gathered rayon inserts at the shoulders adds a decadent touch. An open cut with satin ties at the neck and button closure at the waist allows for the nightgown to shine beneath. Wide bishop sleeves that create a gorgeous Edwardian revival look thanks to the puffed detail provided by hidden elastic at the cuffs. The nightgown is sleek and fitted, with sheer lace inserts at the neckline and waist, with adorable satin bows at both sides of the chest. Absolutely darling; this set reminds me of something that would be worn by a countryside bride.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
