This 1940s nightgown is made of a silky buttercream white rayon satin that has a sheen like you wouldn't believe. Bias cut with a gorgeous embroidered chiffon sweetheart neckline that flatters beautifully. Wide straps and a low back, all edged in chiffon giving the perfect 40's glam look. This very sweet gown is loosely fitted to accentuate the curves, with a long skirt that glides through the hip and extends to the ankle. A perfect choice for wedding nights and honeymoon attire, though far too special to not consider for any romantic occasion.
CONDITION - Very good: No holes or rips. There is some yellowing in two spots over the thigh area. One age mark on the back over the seam right above the derriere. These marks are very tricky due to the high sheen of the gown and i did not see them until I steamed it. If the light hits them just right they are obvious, otherwise they can seem as if they are not there at all.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
