Vintage 1940's Dressing Gown - Sheer Black Rayon Chiffon with Satin Appliqués | S

This 1940s dressing gown was made from a silky rayon chiffon in a deep inky black hue. Bias cut with exaggerated shoulders thanks to the very large pads that offer the classic 1940s silhouette. Long very wide bishop style sleeves compliment the robe beautifully, draping toward the wrists and closing with little fabric covered buttons. This stunner features satin cutout appliqués that adorn the upper chest and directly below the waist band which gives a sort of peplum look. Completely open with triple button closure at the waist allowing whatever is (or isn't) worn beneath.  A very seductive boudoir gem.

Condition: hand washed and steamed. Fabric is in strong wearable condition. A slight patina to the satin that wasn't apparent until under studio lights (I might've just be seeing things but am mentioning for transparency). 2 very small holes in the rear/side of the lower skirt and some fading on wrist buttons (wrist buttons are rayon, waist and neck are satin).
