This vintage 1940s dressing gown robe was made from a very sheer white rayon chiffon that flows beautifully upon movement. Bias cut with padded shoulder that provide the iconic silhouette of the era. Long bishop style sleeves that close at the wrists with fabric covered buttons, with ruffled embroidered lace cuffs that add an elegant touch. This stunning robe is completely open down the center with satin embroidered panels down the bodice and chiffon ties that close the piece at the waist. A fluttery peplum 'skirt' and V'd lower back creates a decadent shape for the wearer, with a long skirt that falls just above the ankle. Absolutely gorgeous!

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
