This vintage 1940's dressing gown robe was made from rich copper rayon satin material with a high luster that shines beautifully. Bias cut, with shoulder pads to provide the classic dart, and long sleeves ruched at the elbow allowing for ease of movement. Tailored stitching sculpts the figure, with a large quilted lapel and sleeve cuffs adding a nice bit of flair to the robe. One side pocket to hold your trinkets and 4 large satin buttons with an inner tie for closure. A long skirt falling to the ankle with a stunning cut to accentuate the curves without adding bulk. Classy and chic, with a versatility which allows this robe to transform into an eye dropping fall coat or jacket.

CONDITION :
Poor to Good: Structurally sound with no loose stitching or mends, but there are several light stains from improper storage. Most severe are on the inner lining (see last photo) and underneath the right quilted lapel which luckily hide when worn. Most of the stains on the outside layer are light enough to go unnoticed without study. Robe has been soaked and treated but not professionally cleaned.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
