This 1940s dressing gown is dripping in beauty! Made of silky copper hued rayon satin charmeuse that has a natural ombre patina due to age, which seems to add to its beauty. Bias cut with puffed princess sleeves adorned with rows of raised padded stripes. This robe fitted at the waist with an inner tie and eye-hook closure to keep from shifting. A padded cinch belt allows for an always perfect fit and adds texture and detail to an already exquisite robe. Incredibly glamorous with a long flowing floor length skirt that has a slight train in the back, completely bountiful in folds due to the enormous sweep. One of the prettiest of dressing gowns I have seen, and can certainly be worn as a dress!
CONDITION - Very good: The color has faded toward the hem, where the copper hue fades to gold. A few large areas at the bottom of the skirt from the original color due to age/fading. These spots hide in the folds and are barely noticeable when worn. Some fabric pulls under the left sleeve from rubbing which produced a couple of tiny pinholes. The belt loop on the left side was resewn on to the robe and stitches are visible on the underside, and the belt looks to have had the piping stitches fixed at some point as there are two rows of stitches on the underside. None of these mends or flaws deflect from the robes beauty but are listed for transparency. Additional photos available upon request!
