This vintage 1940s robe was made from a rich dusty rose pink crepe back rayon satin material that is of a heavier weight that creates the most decadent drape. Bias cut, with ivory cotton lace appliqués that frame the deep V cut neckline. Darling half sleeves with crescent padding at the shoulders, plated at the cuff to create a subtle bishop shape. Wide lace inserts at the undersides and sleeve opening add a stunning look. This remarkable robe features details like no other, including 4 satin covered buttons that close the robe at the right hip, and my favorite, the deep keyhole that extends down the center back, framed in lace. Very sleek and very elegant with a long ankle length hem that is slightly longer at the center back. Truly one of the most enchanting robes I have ever seen.
Label: None
Era: 1940s
Material: Crepe-back rayon satin, cotton lace
Color: Dusty rose pink, ivory
Size: Small, medium (please see measurements)
Condition: Hand washed and pressed. Fabric and lace is very strong. There have been some repairs to the lace which is barely visible (photo shown of raised repairs). Robe had no closure, so I added the buttons myself. One lighted spot on the lower back of the skirt that was hard to photograph because of the sheen. Small cluster of droplet marks on the lower front that I am unable to identify source (More of a dullness than a stain) Bleach marks on the underlay right at the hem that do not show when worn. One tiny hole in satin.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
