Vintage 1940s to early 1950s nightgown by Barbizon made from a pale yellow rayon satin material. Bias cut with a gorgeous sweetheart neckline edged in sheer floral lace. Double satin straps looped through the lace adds a very nice touch, with darling satin appliqués framing the center bust for added decor. This lovely gown is slim fitting and drapes nicely to flatter the figure. A long ankle length skirt edged in lace pulls the gown together.

CONDITION

Excellent: Hand washed and steamed, looks to have been very rarely worn. No holes or rips, but there is one stitched fold at the bust and I am not sure if it was intended as a mend or just a manufacturing error. One very faint mark at the waist and one on the skirt, both are hardly visible.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
