Vintage 1940s to early 1950s hand stitched nightgown by Dwalyne, made from a pale purple lilac rayon material. This lovely gown is cut on the bias with sheer white cotton tulle inserts at the neckline and waist give a subtle yet alluring glimpse of skin. Satin flower appliqués adorn the neck, with a satin insert just above the tulle waist that pulls the gown together. Sleek in fit with a gorgeous drape and almost completely open back. This floor length gown is a unique beauty!

CONDITION

Very good: Hand washed and steamed. One tiny fray under the embroidery on the side of the bust and a few small rust colored marks from age. Seems to be some very slight fading right around the hem but I am not 100% due to the bright studio lights.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
