This vintage late 1940s to early 1950s custom made nightgown was hand stitched by Garfield's Luxury Apparel of Wichita. A very fine, one of a kind piece, with the bodice made entirely of sheer floral lace with delicate scalloped stitching. Ruched detail provides a rounded shape to the sides of the bust, a feature seen in late 40's early 50's cusp dresses and gowns. Ruffled lace flatters the neckline, with 4 staggered silk straps that connect at the top of the shoulder extending to the low cut back. The lace is fully lined in tulle which provides a bit of modesty and extra support for the lace. A stunning, very sheer silk chiffon skirt skims the waist and hip, falling to the ankle with a subtle A line cut.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
