Vintage 1940s to very early 1950s dressing gown robe made from a silky pale rose pink rayon satin material with a gorgeous white peony floral and cobblestone-like pattern. Bias cut with a fitted bodice and low V neckline. Very chic, with a darted padded shoulder and cuffed short sleeves, closing at the waist with 2 large faux pearl buttons to give the classic 'man tailored' look that was popular in the era. This darling robe has a floor length skirt that is quite a bit longer at the sides to offer a dramatic allure to the wearer.

CONDITION

Very good : Hand washed and steamed with no holes or rips. One light yellowish spot on the satin piping of one sleeve. An area on the lower left side of the skirt where there appears to be a 'print transfer'. It hides pretty well in the busy print/folds.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
