Vintage 1930's Pajama Set | Hand Sewn Sheer Peach Silk with Raw Sienna Chantilly Lace & Hand Embroidery | NRA Label | Size SM

These early 1930s pajamas are beyond exquisite. Made of light, sheer, pearly peach silk fabric that drapes perfectly along the curves of the body. Completely sewn by hand down to the button hole stitches. Beautiful silvery white embroidery at the center of the bodice and edges, with intricate rose patterned chantilly lace in a rich antique beige that hem the pants and grace the entire upper part of the top. The top is sleeveless with a bias cut and scandalously low V cut neck and back. Very loosely fit with long sewn in ties to cinch the waist. The pants sit very high with a wide waist band that buttons at each side, and buttons up the right hip making them easier to slip on and off. Wide, flowing palazzo pant legs that fall to the ankle.

NOTE: These pajamas are not only very rare and very special due to their being constructed completely by hand but also because of their having the NRA blue eagle garment label. The NRA label was only used between 1933 and 1935. Initiated by President Franklin Roosevelt in an effort to regulate industry for fair wages and prices that would stimulate economic recovery during the Great Depression. The NRA was considered unconstitutional and therefore ended in 1935.

CONDITION - Excellent: No holes or rips. 4 tiny (no larger than a pin prick) rusty brown spots on the right pant leg, one very light water mark on the back left under the waist, and a light patina that is very difficult to see unless under very bright light on the top-left under the bust.
