Vintage 1930's Japanese Kimono Robe | Reversible Silk Crepe with Painted Floral Pattern & Sash Tie | Size Free
This vintage 1930s Japanese kimono robe is a hand-stitched design made from a stunning hand-printed reversible silk crepe. Medium in weight and double lined, with one side being heavily adorned with a vast array of cheery blossoms, delicate flowers, dancing cranes, and bold swirls against a rich tan background. The other is more subtle, with bright pink flowers and white phantom bamboo against a pale buttercream. Absolutely gorgeous, with the classic long kimono sleeves and closing with a long sash tie. A very special piece of wearable art.
Excellent: Hand washed and steamed, with no holes or rips. There are several marks from decades of storage, with the most significant being on the lower right side of the bodice on the pale layer. Tassles missing on one end of the sash tie.
