This 1930s dance set was made from a rich mid-weight silk satin material in a luscious champagne color. The Kestos style bralette is a wrap style with elastic straps that wrap around the back and button under the bust. Both the top and tap pants feature elaborate embroidered floral appliqués atop sheer chiffon inserts which displays a highly skilled dedication to detail. The bottoms sit high at the waist with double button closure at both sides making them easy to slip into and out of. Loose at the hip with wide leg openings that allow for comfortable wear. Completely hand stitched, with perfectly done French rolled seams make these pure luxury. A stunning lingerie set.

Label: None

Era: 1930's

Material: Silk satin, silk chiffon

Color: Champagne (gold-beige)

Size: Small, medium (please see measurements)

Condition: Hand washed and pressed. No holes or rips, elastic is still very stretchy and strong. Two tiny marks on the lower back near the gusset seam (foxing). Very slight wear to fabric on the seat consistent with age.

Measurements:

• Taken seam to seam laying flat, relaxed, then doubled

• Maximum stretch given for comfort without applying stress to seams

Bralette:

Cup Width: 8.5"

Cup Length: 7"

Band: 26-31" would be measured under the bust around the ribcage

Tap Pants:

Waist: 29"

Hip: up to 42"

Length: 16” from waist to hem at the sides

Fit Notes: Bias cut and silk provide a natural stretch that accommodates a variety of sizes, as does the elastic bands of the Kestos style bra. Would recommend measuring the cups of a well fitting bralette (no padding/triangular shape) or length and width of your own breasts to compare to measurements provided. Tap pants provide full coverage of the derriere and drape around the hip so they are not constricting. Length of tap pants should be measured from the natural waist at the sides.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
