This vintage 1930s nightgown was made from a richly saturated gumetal gray silk satin material that provides a liquid like drape along the figure. Bias cut with a deep V cut neckline that is beautifully framed in ruffled lace. Diamond shirred detail adorns the upper chest and right below the breastbone that further shapes the gown, while a lace 'peplum' accentuates the waist. This gorgeous gown pools at the feet with a dramatically long skirt, and is made perfect with a little pouch pocket at the hip which offers an extra touch of elegance.

Condition
Very good: Hand washed and pressed. This gown may have been dyed at some point, as this was not a common color of the era. There are some dents and tiny thread holes on the bodice from where I assume some of the shirring was released; diamond shape is a tad wider at one side than the other. One small pencil eraser sized hole on the lower back of the skirt. There are some marks that I initially assumed were water marks but they did not wash out; the light has to hit them just right for them to be visible (I had to tilt the fabric towards the light to get them to show).
Measurements: (taken flat, relaxed, and doubled):
Bust: 34-4"
Waist: 28-32"
Hip: up to 42"
Length: 64" (top of shoulder to hem)

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
