Vintage 1930's hand stitched beach pajama set made from a lightweight pale apricot silk with a satin polka dot damask pattern throughout. This set features an intricate art deco style stitch pattern that frames the bodice, with an embroidered sunburst at the center chest of the top. More decorative stitching adorns the center back and both sides of the pant legs towards the hem. The top has a very low back and attached ties to cinch the waist. The pants sit high with pin tuck detail and gored legs to provide an enormous 33 leg opening. Double button closure at the side of the hip. Definitely 'wearable art'!

CONDITION
Very good - excellent: Hand washed and steamed without any holes or rips. The top appears slightly bolder in hue than the pants but it could be my eyes deceiving me. Pants were taken in at the center front/back which creates a pleated detail (that I believe adds to the set). Can be released but I chose not to. Some small marks from age.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
