This vintage 1930s maxi dress and jacket set is the epitome of the eras avant garde style. Made from a peach rayon taffeta fabric with a very high sheen that adds so much allure to the already dramatic shape of the set. The jacket is fitted with a peplum closed waist and enormous puffed sleeves that compliment the equally large fluted 118" hem of the dress. The sleeveless gown features a sleek fit through the hip, tapering into the wide floor length hem. Piping around the sleeves and skirt help to create and hold its shape. An accompanying sash tie can be worn around the gown or jacket. Very unique!
Excellent: Hand washed and steamed. Gown was taken in around the bust and straps were shortened; there is extra fabric which would allow up to 2 inches around the bust and 1 inch to extend the straps. A few repairs to the seams that are invisible when worn. Some darkening at the underarms as pictured and water spots on the skirt from steaming.
