This vintage late 1930s to early 1940s nightgown by Lady Leonora was made from a very sheer black rayon chiffon material that offers a liquid like drape along the figure. Bias cut with a low V cut neck and even lower back. The bodice is beautifully crafted out of floral chantilly lace that provides very little mystery to what's beneath it. A long and sleek skirt falls to the floor, with stunning lace gores at the hem and a center kick slit that allows for easy movement. This gown is a very rare style for the brand and is absolutely breathtaking.

Label: Lady Leonora
Era: 1930s-1940s
Material: Rayon chiffon, chantilly lace
Color: Black
Size: Small, medium - gown is very stretchy and can accommodate a variety of sizes (please see measurements)

Condition

Excellent: Hand washed and steamed. Lace is very stretchy without dryness, and chiffon is structurally sound without any holes or rips. Straps were folded and stitched to shorten by a previous wearer; I did not release them because it seems like a good length, but you absolutely can if you want them longer. There were some repairs to the lace that are not noticeable, but please forgive if I missed a few tiny breaks.

Measurements: (taken flat, relaxed, and doubled):

Bust: 34-38”
Waist: 26-32"
Hips: up to 44"
Length: 61” from shoulder to hem

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
