This vintage late 1930s to early 1940s nightgown and bed jacket set was made from an ultra glossy pearl white rayon satin material. Absolutely gorgeous, with both pieces featuring large chantilly lace gores around the skirt and body of the jacket, finished with little pink satin bows. A flattering ruffled lace cold shoulder adorns the neckline of the gown, with pink ribbon woven through white cotton eyelet lace straps and edging. The same features present at the cuffs of the bed jackets puffed sleeves. A nice open fit on the jacket, and side metal zip closure on the gown makes this set very easy to wear. A lovely, likely homemade, one-of-a-kind trousseau set.

NOTE: Selling as nightgown, bed jacket is not in the best condition but will send with.

Condition

Very good: Hand washed and steamed. There are a few small holes in the skirt of the gown; most predominant is about the size of a pencil erase in the upper skirt which looks like it might be a cigarette burn. Two areas where there is a very faint yellowish tint that hides pretty well thanks to the high sheen and folds (was pretty difficult to photograph directly, so please study all front facing images closely). Bed jacket has some wear on the back along with the same discoloration, which is a bit bolder than what is on the gown.
