Vintage 1930s to 1940s maxi dress made from a very sheer burnt orange rayon chiffon fabric. Absolutely stunning, with ruched detail at the shoulders that creates a stunning gathered bust. Bias cut with a fitted waist, with metal zip closure at the side. This gorgeous gown falls to the ankle with a very full flowing skirt that is slightly longer at the sides to add a bit of drama. An accompanying rayon taffeta slip allows for modesty. Such a beauty!

CONDITION

Good - One mend on the waist close to the left side seam. Storage marks at the hem that I didn't notice until the dress was under bright photography lights. Slip has a few tiny marks and dents. Dress originally had sleeves but they were removed; amateur stitching around armholes but it not distracting. Underarms were reinforced with same fabric.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
