This very rare vintage late 1930s to early 1940s girdle by Parisian corsetier Tiburce Lebas was made from a heavy black floral cotton lace with elastic threading. Very sexy, with a rayon satin front panel with intricate decorative art deco stitching. This stunner sits slightly above the waist with shaping metal stays to create the very best curves and a smoothing black satin rear panel to give a sleek allure over the derriere. Four garters with ribbon covered clips and lush velvet lining over the stays and closure add a decadent touch.
NOTE: This is a highly collectible piece, with the date 1937 embroidered onto the label that corresponds with the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne (World's Fair in Paris), a period when many French designers showcased technologically advanced and aesthetically refined creations, including lingerie. Lebas was a known high end couture lingerie designer, famous for his highly innovative designs.
