A lovely 1920s peignoir made of bold, rosy pink silk crepe. Very loosely fit with a deep, open front completely trimmed in wide tambour embroidered lace. Sleeveless, with a long flowing capelet covering the shoulders and upper bodice, and cascading down the center back. The tambour lace from the front meets between the shoulders and goes the length of the capelet, and also hems the robe. Inner ties and a single button snap for closure, covered in a large silk rosette in the front. Very versatile, this decadent robe can easily be worn open for a dramatic cover over your day wear, yet would be stunning over your favorite lingerie for a more private occasion.
CONDITION - Good to fair: This pretty little thing has lots of potential and can still be worn even as is. There is an obvious mend on the rear side of the capelet, about 2-3 inches in length. Light watermarks and discoloration in a few areas, though is difficult to see unless light hits it just right. This robe will need some help on the armholes. There is a chunk missing on the inner left sleeve, and could be patched or stitched along the edge, and there are little weak spots in various spots (approximately 1 mm to 1/2"). Some fusing fabric would work wonders on these spots. Button snap was poorly resewn on over a hole in fabric, so it appears gathered. See images, priced accordingly.
