Antique 1910s Edwardian dress made of a semi-sheer, lightweight cotton with pale baby blue and white stripes which give a nice touch to a subtle tea gown. Prim and proper, with a flattering narrow shoulder and high neck, fitted through the waist. A lace framed upper chest and ruffled 3/4 sleeve add a sweetly feminine touch, with black velvet ribbons woven throughout. This lovely little dress has an ankle-length skirt with a flounce hem edged in lace, closing up the spine with button-snaps. Perfect for period-specific enthusiasts while still being perfectly acceptable for modern style.

CONDITION :

Excellent: Hand washed and steamed, both cotton and lace are strong and durable for wear. The lace insert has been re-tacked in a few areas which is not noticeable. A few very faint marks that I almost didn't catch but they showed under my photography lighting. Underarms are a bit whiter than the rest of the gown from a baking soda underarm treatment (my fault). A cluster of small holes at the lower side of the skirt. I believe that this dress originally had eye-hook closure and they were later replaced with snaps.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
