Antique 1910's Edwardian Dress | Ivory Tambour Embroidered Lace Tulle with Mermaid Skirt | Size XS, S

Out of Stock

A lovely antique dress from the Edwardian era! Very sheer and made entirely of tambour embroidered tulle, with a stunning floral pattern and pintucking to provide a fitted silhouette that flatters the form beautifully. A square neck edged in large, raised rose embroidery around the neckline and cuffs of the the slim fitting half sleeves. With a gorgeous body that glides along the hips and thighs, and flaring from the knees down in a marvelous mermaid skirt giving bountiful folds and texture. This elaborate dress is lined in tulle fabric to give quality structure and support to the outer layer, and adds layers to the hem. Button up closure down the spine with hidden eye-hooks from the waist down makes for an easy step in without stretching the seams. This rare, one of a kind dress would make a jaw-dropping wedding gown, but could easily be worn for any formal or semi-formal event. A true beauty!

CONDITION - Excellent: Fabric is very strong with lots of stretch, this dress can absolutely be worn! There was an obvious repair made on the left center spot on the chest, and a tulle insert added to the inner layer over the left armpit; nearly invisible when worn. Darning right at the waist in the back near an eye-hook that is obvious upon inspection but not distracting. There is a hole in the tulle right above the hem and may be a few tiny holes in the tulle that I may have missed, though I inspected it very closely.
