Antique 1910's Edwardian Dress | Gathered Ivory Silk with Floral Lace & Belled Sleeves | Size XXS
This antique early Edwardian dress is a true beauty that photos can do no justice for. Made of sheer silk that is tacked in the bodice to create a beautifully full, gathered bodice that was perfect for accentuating the S bend figure of the era. With a sheer floral lace insert over the chest and center back, and stunning ruched sleeves that bell out at the ends to give a very feminine and ethereal appeal to the wearer. Round piping down the tops of the sleeves and lower abdomen and upper hip give a rim and proper shape and exquisite texture. Thick cotton lining helps to shape the form and protect the silk, which I am sure has aided to its wonderful condition. A loose skirt falls to right above the ankle, or to the ankle if on a petite frame. Button closure down the spine and eye-hook closure allows you to slip into the dress without stressing the seams. A perfect piece for an antique dress collector that can also very easily be worn without trouble.
CONDITION - Excellent: Patina to the white silk, but no stains! Structurally sound, with one repair made to reconnect the silk to the lace on the right sleeve and one repair made on the back of the skirt. Inner lining is impeccable. Exquisite condition especially for age!
