This antique late Edwardian to very early 1920s cusp dress is a true marvel. Made from a light and airy natural pongee silk material in a soft shade of white. A very blousy bodice uniquely adorned with moth embroidery across the chest. A square neckline edged with the sweetest floral lace. This stunner is nipped at the waist with a long sleek skirt that falls to the ankle with pin tuck detail above the hem. A very special handkerchief tablier overskirt with silk tassels at each corner gives the perfect Art Nouveau allure. Embroidered clover ribbon frames the deep armholes and edges of the overskirt for extra adornment. This piece closes with button snaps up th back and a series of eye-hooks at the waist and up the skirt. A truly special and highly collectible relic.

Condition: Hand washed and steamed. Dress is structurally sound for gentle wear, but there is some fraying on the outer layer of the waist band that was secured with fusing patches. Repair done near the closure of the underskirt that is not visible and some fraying around the button snaps that was secured with additional stitching (also not distracting).
