Antique 1900-1910s dress made of buttercream silk with a gorgeous chantilly lace sleeve and faux-shawl collar. A stunning piece of history, with a net upper bodice and nipped waist made of gathered silk and a cotton inner panel that covers short 'whalebone' stays. This very special dress falls to the ankle with a padded hem and loose drape through the hip, slick and slim, with a gathered knee for texture. Closing at the waist and down the side with eye-hooks which hide nicely beneath the folds. A remarkable gown!

CONDITION :
Excellent: Hand washed and steamed, structurally sound. Lace and tull are still stretchy, and silk has not one single bit of rot as this gown was lovingly stored. Animal bone stays are a bit fragile and curved due to age but not brittle. A few mends to the tulle that hides under the 'shawl'. A few small holes and spots as pictured. There is a bag of silk-covered buttons that I will include, did not sew onto the dress because they're rust-stained.;
