Vintage 1940s nightgown and peignoir set made of a rich, light champagne rayon satin with a high luster that plays with the light beautifully. Adorned with great detail, with the robe featuring a lightly puffed long bishop style sleeve with button lace cuffs and a gorgeous lace inset over the sides of the chest and V shape down the back. A deep V bias-cut bust on the nightgown with lace ruffles and lace-edged kick slit at the center gives each piece its own flair. The robe has a large godet at the center back adding gorgeous folds and a bountiful sweep. Perfect for a bridal trousseau, or for simply adding a touch of glam to your leisure.

CONDITION :

Excellent: Hand washed and steamed. The robe has no holes or rips, rear neck appears a tad darker. The nightgown has one small tear above the hem. There are tiny (TINY) little blue dots in a few areas of both pieces that are not noticeable but are there, and the nightgown has a couple of storage spots on the lower skirt as pictured. Overall the set looks to have been gently and rarely worn.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
