Antique Victorian era 1900s Japanese-inspired kimono robe made of black cotton fabric with a bright floral scenic print. Slim kimono sleeves, open at the sides which create a curl to the outside when worn, with an open fit closing at the chest with a single button-snap which I assume was added at a later date. A wide belt that covers the derriere in the back, closing at the center waist with button snaps. Petite in fit with a hem falling to about mid-shin on an average height. A one-of-a-kind piece.

CONDITION :
Excellent: I assume that this piece was homemade here in the U.S. and inspired by the Japanese style. The fabric is upside down which is a design flaw. No holes or rips, though I did do some seam repair to the belt, some stitches show on the underside. Some storage marks on the underside of the belt, and snaps are new; added by me. Can be moved to accommodate a smaller waist.

A Note on Buying Vintage
A Note on Buying Vintage
This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:
• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina
These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.
Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
