This late 1920s, early 1930s robe is a rare gem made in Florence, Italy my Tecla Melliz. Heavy in weight and made from a cotton-wool blend that is not too scratchy against the skin. Bountiful ruffles adorn the entire opening and add a very flattering touch to the figure. 3/4 length sleeves fall just below the elbow with wide ruffled openings, and a hem completely lined in complimentary ruffles. This darling piece wraps closed with two attached rope ties that tie at the left hip, though the robe looks wonderful when worn open as a stunning duster sweater over casual attire. A superb collector's piece for the lover of all things Art Nouveau.

A Note on Buying Vintage

This is an antique or early vintage garment made from delicate materials such as silk, fine cotton, lace, or early synthetics. These textiles may display signs consistent with age, which includes:

• natural fiber fatigue
• gentle thinning at stress points
• subtle irregularities inherent to early manufacturing
• age-related softness or patina

These qualities are authentic to historic garments and are considered part of their character, not defects, unless otherwise stated.

Notable flaws, such as excessive wear, stains, holes, or rips will always be photographed and disclosed in the condition notes.
