Vintage 1950's Merry Widow | Sheer Black Embroidered Nylon with Red Satin Ribbon & Detachable Garters | Warner's Original | Size 34 C, D
This 1950s merry widow is an iconic vintage lingerie piece made by the legendary brand Warner's. Beautifully crafted of sheer black embroidered nylon mesh fabric with flexible steel boning to help create the perfect pinup silhouette. Gorgeous darted strapless bullet cups with underwire and vertical stitching for support. Fully lined with bright red satin ribbon tape along the waistline to cinch and create the classic waspie waist of the 50s. Wide elastic wings to give a proper fit and a low V back makes this garment hide beautifully under just about any top or dress. Eye-hook closure down the spine gives a seamless look without bulk. A rare find as she still retains her 4 detachable garter straps to hold up your stockings, with lovely red satin ribbon garter covers to add flair and protection against the skin and your outerwear. This stunning longline bra is a must have for any vintage lingerie enthusiast.
CONDITION - Excellent: All elastic is still very stretchy and the garter clasps are still very durable, likely very lightly used. Some fraying at the edges of the ribbons that hide the garter clasps, one repair made to the closure panel. Very full of life and perfectly sturdy for wear!

It's a beautiful piece that is very hard to find. I had to reinforce the closure panel because it wasn't strong enough. It also doesn't hold the shape as much as I expected (which is normal for an aged garment). Overall I like it.
