This vintage 1940s nightgown was made from a rich coral pink sheer rayon chiffon material. Made in Hungary, this gown offers a loose drape with intricate pintuck detail across the shoulders. Delicate scalloped edging and fitted stitching at the waist, with attached ties to cinch the waist to your liking. This darling gown flows nicely while flattering the figure beautifully, with a mid-shin length hem for comfortable wear and movement.
What makes this gown so interesting, is that its label which reads Fov. Kezmuipari Vall helps to identify this gown as being made during or post WWII. FŐV is an abbreviation for Fővezérség, which translates to General Headquarters (GHQ). The term referred to the highest military command in Hungary. During this time all garment materials were being rationed in Central Europe, just as they were here in the States. There was a structured process for creating and distributing garments in this region.
