Vintage 1940's Peignoir Set | Ivory Rayon Satin with Ruffled Alençon Lace & Light Blue Ribbon | Neiman Marcus | Size M, LG

Out of Stock

A lovely 1940s peignoir set by luxury brand Neiman Marcus! Made of silky rayon satin in a pearly shade of ivory and Alençon lace. The peignoir robe has a beautiful bias cut with wide lace panels along the front opening of the bodice. With loose sleeves gathered slightly at the shoulder and falling below the elbow to about mid-wrist, with ruffled lace at the opening. Loose and luxurious, with a fitted waist and long flowing open skirt. Closing at the waist with eye hook fasteners and a long, wide, light blue ribbon sash tie. The nightgown is sleeveless with a bias cut and ever so naughty, deep V cut in the bodice. Edged in matching lace with ruffled lace around the opening of the arms. This beautiful gown is made more dramatic with an open back to the waist, and long draping skirt. Sewn in light blue ribbon ties at either side of the waist for you to tie into a bow. A stunning set that was part of a bridal trousseau, and is excellent for any collector.

CONDITION - Very good: No holes or rips. The peignoir has a few very faint spots on the left lower side of the skirt, and the nightgown has some tiny gray dots on the front lower part of the skirt. The rayon satin has some scuffs and dents, primarily in the nightgown as the peignoir fabric is in exquisite condition with much of its luster retained. Lace ruffles have become slightly worn on the edges. Additional photos available.
