Vintage 1940's Peignoir Robe | Ivory Silk Chiffon with Satin Leaves & Chantilly Lace | Size MED, LG

Out of Stock

This very sweet 1940s peignoir is made of very sheer silk chiffon in an antiqued shade of ivory. Very feminine, with a deep sweetheart neckline with gathered detail at the upper part of the chest. Long sleeved with beautiful wide sleeves, closing at the cuffs with 2 fabric covered buttons. Completely adorned with intricate lace that traces the bodice and trails the back with a peplum style ruffle. Exquisite satin leaf appliques over each side of the bust for an innocently sexy bit of coverage over the breasts, and two large leaves right at the lower back to give a special touch at all angles. Completely open in the skirt with a row of buttons for coverage over the chest. This very special dressing gown is perfect for a bridal trousseau, while being versatile enough to wear out on the town with a pair of high waist jeans or a lovely draped dress. An ethereal gem!

CONDITION - Excellent: no holes or rips. There are a few spots from age, with the most predominant being at the upper left shoulder and upper back. Two fabric buttons on left cuff are replacements and are lighter than the gown.
