Vintage 1930's Kimono Robe | Red & Light Pink Silk Crepe with Floral Print | Size XS, S

Out of Stock

A lavish and stunning 1930s Japanese kimono made of the most beautiful silk crepe material. This robe is covered in a stunning array of hand printed designs, from large peonies and cherry blossom sprigs to a an abstract wave and solid color blocking with hidden shadow details and symbols. With bright shades of red and the creamiest pale pink, with touches of gold, silver, blue, green and yellow. A true gem, with long 25" sleeves open for movement and a sleek, draping, slender fit. With sewn in ties at the front to wrap around and tie in the back as shown, or to wear open and tie in the center chest for a loose, boho chic look. This remarkable dressing gown from the Art Deco era has a soft cotton lining that protects the skin as well as the delicate crepe fabric. This luscious robe was very skillfully made for a woman with an expensive taste, which shows not only in the elaborate detail but also the loving preservation. A unique and exquisite piece!

CONDITION - Excellent: no holes or rips. There is one very small light spot on the left chest area, about 1.5" in diameter and one area in the pattern where I believe there is a bright yellow mark. I do not believe the yellow mark is part of the design, though I almost missed it. Very difficult to see as it blends in with the pattern. Some light yellowing to the lining due to age. Additional photos available upon request!
