This stunning 1920s gown is made of golden silk charmeuse fabric and lovely Alençon lace along the bib. Slightly fitted in the chest with the classic dropped waist sitting right at the hip with light ruching for added drama. Falling below the knee in the front with an A-symmetrical hem, longer in the sides and longest in the back. This gorgeous gown gives an almost liquid-like effect with the high sheen and wide 110" sweep falling together for a beautiful silhouette and lots of movement. This gown was very skillfully hand sewn by Madame Clarisse Gowns of Chicago, IL, and with the fabric and lace quality, I am sure this dress was surely high class couture in the time.
CONDITION - Very Good: fabric is in excellent and strong condition with a few blemishes on the lower front hidden in the sweep (see photo) and a spot on the front bib. There is light staining in the underarms and there have been several mends to the lace, which is quite hard to see unless inspecting. There are still small breaks that can easily be darned by a qualified seamstress. This dress is very beautiful and still completely wearable.
