This antique 1910s S-bend corset from the Edwardian era is very sweet in detail and superb in structure. Made by Kabo Corsets, known well for their 'Live Model' method of crafting their corsets on live models to ensure proper fitting to the human form. Sitting directly under the bust out of the palest of pink cotton, with elastic panels under each breast for comfort and support. Lined across the top in beautiful white scalloped lace to add a subtle bit of decor to a very simple piece that was likely worn for daily wear. Lacing in the back and a low, un-boned hip to create the perfect S curve in the silhouette. 4 garter straps with gorgeously embossed metal garter clasps to hold up a silky pair of stockings. An excellent piece of lingerie history, perfect for any collector.
CONDITION - Excellent: no holes, stains, rips or mends. Has been cleaned. Lacing is authentic to the era but is not original. No rust or rust marks, all metal in excellent condition. Elastic still surprisingly retains some bounce but certainly not as much as it did over 100 years ago. Some minor marks due to age, with the most significant being on the lower-front corner of the right panel.
